BARNAUL. The exhibition "Russian Art of the 18th-20th Centuries" opened on October 24 in the hall of the Altai Krai Museum. The Art Museum in December this year will celebrate the 55th anniversary of its founding, the opening exhibition is timed to coincide with the anniversary date.

The exhibition also included the famous work “Portrait of V.P. Kochubey”, performed by serf artist Gerasim Kadunov.
In addition to canvases by Russian artists at the exhibition, you can see rare paintings by foreign painters whose work was associated with Russia. Among them are works written by French artist Jean-Louis Voilà, as well as artist from England Christina Robertson.
These masters of pictorial art performed a large number of paintings for Russian customers. Another interesting work is included in the exhibition - an allegorical parade portrait “Catherine’s Triumph”, made by the famous German artist Rafael Mengs.
One of the sections of the exhibition is dedicated to the landscapes of famous artists of the Wanderers. It includes the works of Shishkin, Savrasov, Klodt. An important part of the exhibition were paintings written by Nicholas Roerich and Peter Kuznetsov. In the graphics section, a drawing by Victor Vasnetsov, written in 1869, is presented.
