A retrospective exhibition of Far Eastern artists is open for the anniversary Automatic translate
SOUTH SAKHALINSK. Sakhalin Museum of Art has opened a retrospective exhibition of Far Eastern artists. The exhibition is dedicated to the anniversary - the art museum is thirty years old. This was a wonderful occasion to remind visitors of the museum about the creative contribution to the art of Sakhalin artists.
Among the works that became the basis of the jubilee exhibition are works by artists who have become pioneers of the unique nature of the island. Some of them passed away a long time ago, some left Sakhalin, but their work, capturing various corners of the island, of the people who lived on it, created the image of the Far East, the charm of which is remembered by every person who has ever visited these parts.
The opened exhibition was able to accommodate only a small part of the works of art available today in the museum fund. The museum’s collection has more than 1300 exhibits and includes modern painting, graphics and sculptures, made by artists of the Far Eastern region.
Over the thirty years of the museum’s work, many exhibition projects with the participation of masters of art of the Far East took place within its walls. After each of them, the museum funds were replenished with new exhibits. Museum staff selected for the exhibition the best works of artists of Yakutia, Primorye, Sakhalin.
The anniversary exhibition was located in two museum halls - graphic works were placed in the small one, and in the large there was a place for both paintings and sculptures. In total, the exhibition’s exposition included more than 150 works, among which you can see works by the famous Sakhalin artist Givi Mantkava.
Lyrical landscapes and portraits, genre paintings and abstract compositions are available to visitors on November 8th.
