Open spaces at the exhibition of the artist Sergei Vasenkin in Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk Automatic translate
SOUTH SAKHALINSK. Museum of books to them. On October 30, A.P. Chekhov opened the exhibition “Romance of the open spaces”, representing the work of the artist Sergei Vasenkin, a painter who prefers the image of sea landscapes in his works.
This year Sergey Vasenkin marks two important events, to the dates of which the opened exhibition is timed. Sergey Anatolyevich will turn fifty this year. This anniversary is complemented by another, no less important date - the twentieth anniversary of the beginning of creative activity.
The results of his work are impressive - over the years the artist held more than twenty solo exhibitions. Sergey Vasenkin presented his work not only in Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk, which became his hometown, but also in Khabarovsk and St. Petersburg. He made his paintings and a trip to the lands far beyond the borders of the country - in 2001, an exhibition was held in New Zealand.
Having been engaged in painting for two decades, Sergey Vosenkin, once conquered by the works of Ivan Aivazovsky, remains faithful to academic painting. He writes his works using the technique of multi-layer oil painting. He also works in today’s unique free-writing technique.
The artist came to painting in a difficult way. Thanks to his parents who had the profession of builders, he managed to visit different parts of the country in early childhood. Together with them he happened to live in Uzbekistan, and then, before leaving for the army, he participated in the construction of BAM.
Military service led Sergei Vasenkin to Sakhalin, whose beauty conquered the future artist. After demobilization, he remained in Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk. He worked in various construction organizations. The last twenty years has been devoted to painting.
