ST. PETERSBURG. The personal exhibition of the honored artist of the Republic of Dagestan, Rasso Konstantinovich Magometov, opened in the cultural institution Club Vyborg Side located on Smolyachkova Street. The halls reserved for the exposition of the exhibition housed works performed by Rasso Konstantinovich in different years of his life - painting and tapestries, graphics and watercolors.
The artist dedicated his new exhibition to his native republic, as well as to the bicentenary of the accession of Dagestan to Russia. The works selected for the exhibition are united by the main theme - the love of Rasso Konstantinovich for his homeland, with which the war was separated from the artist in early childhood.
The war took his parents from him, the name Rasul given to the boy at birth. Rasso Konstantinovich after the death of his mother lived in an orphanage, where he mistakenly received a new name, which he bears for more than seventy years. The boy remembered the name of the village where Rasul was born, but was able to visit there only after many years.
Only in 1970, after graduating from the Leningrad College. Mukhina, the artist arrived in Dagestan. For several years he taught the art of painting at the Makhachkala art school, but in 1974, Rasso Konstantinovich returned to Leningrad, where until last year he taught students with hearing problems painting and drawing.
All these years he brought solo exhibitions to his homeland, as if reporting to his fellow countrymen about his work. Rasso Konstantinovich is a long-term member of the Union of Artists of the Russian Federation, a participant in many All-Russian exhibitions. At the opening of the exhibition, the guests spoke warm words to the artist, and one of the speakers noted that in addition to wonderful paintings and tapestries, Rasso Konstantinovich is also the author of three poetry collections dedicated to his native land.
