SARATOV. Starting September 24, the Pavel Kuznetsov House Museum invites you to visit the exhibition “Portraits of Contemporaries”, dedicated to the 135th anniversary of the master of painting. The exhibition includes 40 portraits painted by Pavel Kuznetsov, as well as his wife, artist Elena Bebutova.

During the war, Kuznetsov created a series of portraits with images of war correspondents. Each portrait was a human story. In the postwar years, Kuznetsov and his wife constantly travel to the Baltic states in the summer, where they live in Dzintari or Palanga. Every day, artists begin with a trip to the beach, where sketches are written in any weather.
In the same years, Pavel Kuznetsov painted a large number of portraits. Most of them depict people who have dedicated their lives to various forms of art. In his portraits you can see famous writers, artists, artists. Among the paintings painted by both Kuznetsov and Elena Bebutova, it is impossible to find frozen, ceremonial portraits.
At first glance at the portrait, it becomes clear that the person depicted on it is close in spirit to the artists. Facial expressions of people are dreamy and open. It is worth noting that sometimes each of the artists wrote one person, so you can compare their technique.
