SAMARA. On August 3, the first Exhibition of the Author’s Comic will be open at the New Space Gallery, which is part of the regional scientific library. This peculiar project was organized by an initiative group created by the Authors comics online portal.

An Internet resource known in the world of artists has gathered a powerful community of comic book fans and artists working in this genre on a worldwide network. The “Authors comic” portal, having existed for about five years, has long turned into a symbol of the concept of “Web comics”.

According to the chairman of the organizing committee of the exhibition, Alexander Kozlov, such a wide display of works in the genre of "comics" is held in Samara for the first time. Similar exhibition-festivals dedicated to comics were organized in the capital cities, but in the regions there were practically none.

Therefore, the Samara exhibition has become an alternative to the capital’s festivals. Moreover, the exposition of the exhibition is composed of works by authors who are not professional artists. These are amateurs who paint for their own pleasure, and then present their work on the Internet, where they gain popularity.

The opening exhibition provided an opportunity to enter the real world from the network space. About forty artists from different regions of our country presented their works at the exhibition. Representatives of neighboring countries, as well as Germany, did not stand aside.

You can see a variety of comics at the exhibition - here are works made for children and drawings that touch on “adult” topics. During the exhibition, master classes were held with well-known comic book creators from Moscow - Bogdan Kulikovskikh and Evgeny Fedotov, a teleconference was held with authors from Krasnodar.
