MOSCOW. Humanitarian Center. Nikolai Ostrovsky rightfully bears the name "Overcoming". The Center constantly runs a series of exhibitions “Miraculous Art”, which presents the work of people who do not have hands or do not own them. These exhibitions are mobile - moving to other exhibition venues, they provide an opportunity to get acquainted with unique works of art to as many people as possible.
In the middle of last week, within the framework of the project, the exhibition "Hands of an Armless Artist" was opened. It presents the work of a talented artist, a courageous person - Alexander Pokhilko. Although Alexander from birth has legs only up to the knee, he does not have hands, he cannot be called an invalid.
Alexander, since childhood, wishing to keep up with his peers in nothing, showed an extraordinary will to work. Talking about his life, Alexander says that he became interested in creativity in early childhood. The first experience was the art of modeling, he began to draw a little later.
I tried myself in sports - swam and played table tennis, even was the champion of Moscow. Alexander continues to play sports now - in 1212 he became the conqueror of the famous African peak Kilimanjaro. Preparing to defend a diploma - study at the Art Institute. Surikova is close to completion. Already engaged in teaching - holds master classes in painting.
The current exhibition features paintings, drawings and sculptural works. Although the subject matter of Alexander’s works is diverse, in the exposition of this exhibition all the works are devoted to revealing the symbolic meaning of the hand in human life. The artist worked on the project for three months.
You can get acquainted with the work of the artist Alexander Pohilko until August 31.
