More than two hundred paintings and drawings were selected from the rich museum collection for display at the exhibition. The creators of the exhibition did not disregard the sculptural portraits. Opening the exhibition, museum staff said that the exposition presented to the guests of the exhibition included works by not only famous professional masters. Considerable space is reserved for the works of provincial artists, and some works are presented as works by unknown authors.

Among them are graphic works, one of which is a copy of the original work of the artist from Sweden, V. Erickson, who portrayed Catherine the Second in a kokoshnik.
The preparation for the exhibition opened was lengthy, as many portraits needed restoration, authorship was clarified, the dates of their writing. Now they can be seen in the exhibition hall until September 10th.
