Vasily Lesin comprehended the drawing technique, studying in the art studio, where his teacher was the watercolor painter Bogomolov, who became his guide to the world of painting. In fact, classes in art studios replaced the artist with a course in an art school. Gradually, Vasily Lesin’s hobby grew into a matter of life, became his main profession.

The opening exhibition presents the whole variety of genres in which the artist’s watercolors are made. And these are not only wonderful landscapes and still lifes. In the halls there are also plot-themed paintings and portraits. His works depict not only reality, not only the labor heroism of the people surrounding the artist, written by the artist in the genre of socialist realism.

In the watercolors of Vasily Lesin, another world is located, accessible only to a person who has a thin, gifted nature. This world was inhabited by creatures that emerged from other dimensions, who became assistants in the artist’s difficult skill. Since 2008, Lesin became an Honored Artist of Russia.

An exhibition of watercolors painted by Vasily Lesin awaits guests on April 11th.
