Watercolors by Sergei Andriyaka at an exhibition in the Kaluga Art Museum Automatic translate
KALUGA. Thanks to the project “Days of Moscow in Kaluga”, art connoisseurs got the opportunity to see the work of one of the leading watercolor artists Sergei Andriyaka. On April 18, the personal exhibition of the artist was opened in the exhibition hall of the art museum.
Sergey Andriyaki, working on his works, used a variety of painting techniques - he painted in oil, gouache, and tempera. There are etchings, mosaics, stained glass in his creative baggage, but the artist forever gave watercolors to his heart.
Many of the artist’s works are devoted to the architectural views of Russian cities. These themes are most loved by the painter, because only urban and rural landscapes can show how the surrounding life is changing and what beauty people sometimes do not notice. Sergey Andriyaka writes and still lifes, performing them, like landscapes, using a unique technique - multilayer watercolors.
Work in this technique begins with a modest sketch with a pencil, then each detail of the drawing is indicated by color. Only after this preparatory work does brush work begin and a hint of a future picture turn into a large and bright watercolor.
The exhibition of Sergei Andriyaka includes works where visitors can see monuments of Russian architecture, landscapes, many of the watercolors are dedicated to the Kaluga land. The artist has been to Kaluga several times, he came here with his students to practice. After these trips, a Kaluga series of watercolors appeared.
Exhibitions of works by Sergey Andriyaka have been held in the city four times, always receiving rave reviews. The opened new exhibition in the city’s art museum has become a wonderful gift for fans of the unique talent of the Watercolor Master. You can visit the exhibition until May 5th.
