MOSCOW. The State Museum of the East presents the works of Irina Levashova, a recognized master of monochrome painting. This exhibition was called “Sumi-e Symphony”, which can be expressed with the Russian phrase “Water and Carcass Symphony”. She will work until March 10th.
Irina Levashova, a restoration artist, began to deal with Japanese ink painting relatively recently, since 2003, and her teacher was the president of the Ikebana School in Moscow, Mrs. Yamada Midori. Successfully mastering the technique of ink painting, allowed Irina Levashova to receive a personal seal and the right to teach this art along with the creative name "Beautiful Peony".
Although the technique in which the artist works is monochrome, but it allows small intersperses of other colors, which Irina uses in her works. The craftsman uses only rice paper of the original manufacture, mineral paints and silk.
Most of the works of Irina Levashova performed in the wake of creative trips. Impressions from them give rise to new creative ideas for the artist. Many of the works presented at the exhibition were written by Irina Levashova under the impression of a trip to Japan, where she visited last year.
For two consecutive years, the work performed by the master of monochrome painting, Irina Levashova, was noted at the competition "500 Best Works", held in Tokyo. The artist constantly participates in the Beauty of Japan exhibitions held in the capital of Russian cities. Since 2009, Levashova has been a member of the Suibokug Society of Artists, uniting the masters of this painting technique from all over Japan.
In a creative manner, Irina can be attributed to artists working in the lyrical genre, and the theme of her works is not only Japanese, but also Russian.
