Unique images of heroes of paintings by Boris Gershfeld at an exhibition in Tver Automatic translate
TVER. In the museum and exhibition complex, a personal exhibition of the works of the artist from Tver Boris Gershfeld was presented. His work is well known to connoisseurs of painting, each exhibition of the Tver Union of Artists included Gershfeld’s work in his exposition, however, the painter’s last solo exhibition was held many years ago, in the early nineties.
The works presented at the exhibition were performed in different years, but preference was given to works written recently. Boris Gershfeld’s paintings have always attracted the attention of unusually written characters, both similar and unlike each other. The artist never cheated on his individual style of writing. In the works of recent years, the heroes on the artist’s canvases have, as before, characteristic noses, bright eyes and well-defined lips, somewhat reminiscent of the author himself.
The animals depicted in the paintings of Boris Gershfeld have human faces. Such a grotesque gives the artist’s works a special sound, these are iconic images expressing the artist’s attitude. The painter’s style of writing takes its roots from expressionism and fantastic realism, the plots are taken from real life, but they are also characteristic of literary works.
The originality of Boris Gershfeld’s artistic talent allowed him to create heroes in his works that fit into the fantastic reality of the space depicted by the artist, in his individual perception of the world. Everything written by the artist is transferred from the real world, only reworked by his imagination.
The exhibition, waiting for visitors until February 24, is dedicated to the memory of his wife, Valeria Fyodorovna Gershfeld, who did a lot for museum work in Tver.
