Solo exhibition of Victor Sidorenko opened in Ukraine Automatic translate
December 12, in the Kharkov gallery of modern art "ErmilovCenter" the opening of an exhibition by contemporary artist Viktor Sidorenko, which presents a series of psychedelic works on the theme "Reflection in the unknown."
The artist creates stories as if hovering on the verge between reality and illusion, which, on the one hand, are the result of the author’s psychological trauma inflicted in the distant Soviet past, and, on the other hand, are a reminder that any society is a system ready to start the struggle at any time against personality.
The central image of his paintings is the average man, defenseless against external influences, but, nevertheless, not losing himself. And although life left him literally without pants (in underpants), he continues the struggle for his freedom and demonstrates that the real "prisons are only in the head."
This exhibition, like the previous expositions of the artist, is a historical retrospective, an attempt to return to the past and rethink it. But at the same time they are a sign - the future may not be as bright as we would like. A machine for zombies and the destruction of uniqueness is launched now, albeit in a different form. Therefore, the struggle for freedom is eternal, as is the universe itself.
The exhibition asks the eternal question: “What is freedom?”, And invites everyone in Kharkov who visited it to think about it until December 20.
