In the premises of the Saratov Art School, an art exhibition "Red Gate" began, at which artists from the Volga Federal District and capital painters presented their work. This large-scale project is dedicated to the anniversary of the Russian Academy of Arts, which turned 225 years old. The exposition presents the works of two hundred artists, their works were selected from more than two thousand works that claimed to participate in the project.

At the opening of the exhibition, the head of the Saratov region Valery Radaev spoke about the need to support the project by eminent masters and cultural figures, as this remarkable project serves to unite the culture of the regions of the Volga region into a single whole. The opening ceremony was attended by representatives of the Saratov administration and the region, as well as the leadership of the Russian Academy of Arts.

The opening of the exhibition for many artists who took part in the “Against the Current” project was a double celebration. During this ceremony, the winners of the competition of paintings in the modern academic direction of art were awarded. Solemnly awarded diplomas and medals of the Creative Union of Russian Artists. Representatives of Saratov artists also received awards.

Saratov took a worthy place in the exhibition - he was presented by the work of thirty-two artists. In the project for each city, whose representatives participate in the exhibition, a separate award is provided, each of them will be awarded for certain achievements in academic art.
