Reality and fantasies in the "Labyrinth of Dreams" by Stanislav Dymov Automatic translate
The exhibition “Labyrinths of Dreams”, which began its work on October 29 at the Belarusian State Technical University named after Shukhov in the city of Belgorod, continues events dedicated to the sixtieth anniversary of the Belgorod painter, member of the Union of Russian Artists Stanislav Fedorovich Dymov. The new display of Dymov’s works was the continuation of a more voluminous exposition of the exhibition, held in the Rodina exhibition hall, whose director the artist has been working since 2010.
The exhibition, held at BSTU, included about twenty works by the painter, in which reality is blended with a fancy pattern and a fairy-tale world created by the artist’s imagination. The work of Stanislav Dymov does not belong to a certain style of painting. Just as in his works reality and fiction flow smoothly into each other, each work of the painter perfectly combines the features of symbolism and fantastic realism with the addition of a small fraction of primitivism.
Even in images of the views of the old streets of Belgorod, the main goal of the artist is not to convey the exact details, but to reflect on the picture the mood and thoughts that made the painter pay attention to a specific place in the city. The landscapes are both real and fantastic, full of nostalgia and sadness about a fast-passing life.
In recent years, Dymov has increasingly turned to stories from the bible in his work, mythological creatures appear in his painting, the creatures of a disturbing human sleep, a world where any fantasies are possible. The paintings, written by an artist who is constantly in tireless search for the true path and understanding of reality, compel the viewer to share with the master his desire for knowledge of the world.
You can join the world of unusual, “Dymkovo” painting until the end of November.
