His canvases represent the most diverse genres, among which there are many landscapes dedicated to the beauty of the vast expanses of his native Vologda land, portraits of his contemporaries, among which a significant part is occupied by war veterans who fought against fascism.

This facet of his work is due to the fact that from the first days of the war he volunteered for the army, was seriously wounded, but after being wounded he continued to serve until the end of the war. Only after the end of the war did he receive an art education - first he graduated from an art school in Moscow, and then from the Surikov Institute.

In one of the works demonstrated at the exhibition - a self-portrait with the name “Stolen Victory”, the artist reflected the pain of a generation whose youth was scorched by the war. Over the years, the artist has written more than a thousand paintings, many of which adorn the collections of the country’s main museums. Most of his works are in the art gallery of the city of Vologda, whose honorary citizen is V.N. Korbakov.

The organizers of the exhibition faced the most difficult task - from so many works to choose those that, in the anniversary year, could show the master’s work from all sides. It should be noted that the choice was made successfully.
