An exhibition summarizing the results of the Xth international open-air ceramics "Art-Zhizhal" opened in Bobruisk Automatic translate
On August 8, the best works of contemporary artists were presented at the Bobruisk city art museum, which for three weeks plunged into the creative atmosphere of an international open-air devoted to pottery and other types of work with ceramics.
The project, born back in 1992, this summer attracted 25 sculptors who want to improve in the manufacture of ceramic art objects. Belarusians, Ukrainians, Russians, Poles, Lithuanians, Moldavians, Azerbaijanis, and even masters from sultry Venezuela gathered at a recreation center near Bobruisk and devoted their whole life to the creative process.
Of course, most of the works remained in the personal collection of authors, since they were more likely exercises to hone the technique than ready-made masterpieces. However, each participant in the open air was obliged to create two compulsory works that could reach for the title “decoration of the museum”. It is with these most successful works that visitors will be able to familiarize themselves.
The leader of the open air Valery Koltygin dreams of creating a whole museum of ceramics, the collections of which will be replenished after each such event. Indeed, for 10 years of the project’s history, it was possible not only to make artists from different countries around a common passion. But also to get really strong and beautiful work. The fruits of the works of all participants are of great importance for the development of this type of art, so the interested public should be able to get in touch with their works at least within the museum.
