Finding the lost time are the Donetsk Foundation Isolation and the Continua Gallery Automatic translate
On July 7, the opening of a unique experience in Ukrainian art took place, when the entire territory of the former factory for the production of insulating materials will become a platform for creative self-realization of artists. Donetsk, being an industrial city, thus gets the opportunity to declare itself as a cultural center. A group of foreign artists from the Continua Gallery will be able to “look for time” in the once flourishing and now dilapidated factory.
The result of the work are the installations that made up the composition “In Search of Time”. The artists Kader Atia, Hans Op De Beck, Daniel Buren, Moataz Nasr, Pascal Martin Tayu were able to show their talent. Entering the territory of the plant, they saw a frozen moment in time - the devastation left by the workers who left the premises.
Tools lying in the most unusual places and poses, equipment covered with a layer of dust, but as if waiting for the return of people. All these forgotten objects are now materials for creative activity. Their transformation is inevitable - the world does not stand still and requires constant movement. However, abandoning the past, whatever it may be, is not possible. Therefore, creators will seek this connection with the old days in order to find answers to the needs of our time.
In addition, the project “time search” will be the first joint work of two art centers - the Donetsk foundation “Installations” and the gallery “Continua”. From which in the next five years you can expect many non-traditional exhibitions and events.
