Not punctual Automatic translate
On June 29, an exhibition opened in Kharkov, the leitmotif of which was the desire to draw public attention to the need to value time. The exhibition “Opizdali” by Taras Kamenny is filled not so much with holistic works of art as with imperfections demonstrating how preparations for Euro 2012 went in Ukraine. Punctuality problems exist among many Slavic peoples, however, it is most acute in connection with world-wide events. When it is necessary to show your state in all its glory, but at the beginning there is too much time before the planned event, and then for some reason it is always too little.
The name of the project “Opizdali” was typed in Latin, but it means, first of all, the chaos created in the country, one of the signs of which is the problem with the language. When even at the state level, politicians speak not in pure Ukrainian or, at least, Russian, but in Surzhik (a rather illiterate mixture of them), the inability to timely complete preparations for a significant event is no longer surprising. Rather, a bitter irony.
The opening of the exhibition was held with the participation of builders who participated in the creation of strategic objects of Euro 2012. Incoming visitors came across an understandable and somewhat ironic inscription: “Repair” and a plastic film that enclosed some installations. In general, in this Taras Kamennaya acts more as a critic of the present than as a creator of the beautiful. However, this is one of the most important aspects of creativity, which modern sculptors and artists have no right to ignore.
