VAN GOGH
The powerful roots of Van Goghs brushstrokes...
Sorrowfully bound they walk –
Circle after circle, sorrowful or strict?
A circular, meaningless route.
The sea in Saint-Denis plays vividly,
Color reflections on the water.
And the olive grove attracts
With a tenderness that exists nowhere else.
Core life, wild, evil.
A poor and angry mining town.
Even dying, the preacher
Will not reject the light of higher realms.
He swirled Paris with colorful masses,
With beauty, absinthe, and wine.
Its easier to wear a mask.
Being yourself is much harder. But in that
Lies the essence, and the ore of future victories.
The air in Arles is thick with heat.
... to reach the very foundations – the most essential!
But sometimes even a bush can be frightening.
A room, a bed, a table, boots.
It exudes dread. And the brushstrokes are dense.
There is solace in a bottle,
If you crave higher moisture?
If driven by a sacred thirst,
Is victory possible or not?
And now, everyone in the museum
Can see the light from the paintings.
* * *
Van Gogh grew flowers from wounds,
From spiritual wounds, and with brushstrokes
Of incredible density,
They gently play with us.
But what about his crucifixion! -
The crucifixion of Van Gogh cries out.
We have forgotten the sense of duty,
And we keep going, nothing...
POTATO EATERS
Thick oil of life hides the plasma
Of destinies. The canvas
Frightens with its darkness – it is
A consciousness prone to sarcasm
That will change more than wine.
How heavy is the subtext
Of what is depicted in the painting?
You will not find happiness,
Only a resin of despair!
But above us are amber skies,
Tents of worlds and all that.
And for those who eat, and for the color of dawn,
Its already something precious.
Potatoes. A whitish vapor.
There is barely enough food for everyone.
And what does the person at the head of the table
Pay for life today? He is old...
Are we just potato eaters?
Did they deceive us with amber?
The eyes of fear are large.
We, humans, are like vertebrae
Close to each other.
Light in July,
A luxurious afternoon by the river…
Where is the sorrow? Happiness has been returned to us.

The landscape is alive with Van Goghs signature impasto technique. Thick, energetic brushstrokes define the undulating terrain, creating a sense of movement and texture in the fields and slopes. The foreground is a riot of greens and yellows, dotted with small white and yellow wildflowers, suggesting a meadow in bloom. Smoke curls from one of the chimneys, a subtle sign of life and activity within these seemingly simple homes.
The subtext here speaks to Van Goghs deep connection with nature and his empathy for the working class. The rugged, untamed beauty of the landscape is as important as the cottages themselves, suggesting an harmonious coexistence between humanity and the natural world. The simplicity of the dwellings and the vibrant, almost overwhelming energy of the natural surroundings might also reflect Van Goghs own emotional intensity and his search for solace and meaning in the rural world. Theres a sense of groundedness and quiet resilience in this depiction, a celebration of everyday life amidst the grandeur of nature. The dramatic sky above could be interpreted as mirroring the artists own turbulent inner world, a stark contrast to the peaceful scene below.
