Location: The State Tretyakov Gallery, Moscow (Государственная Третьяковская галерея).
The canvas is more than colorful. It just oozes sunny summer warmth. And most importantly, it’s soothing or something... That path in the woods and the family out for a walk. We can guess or maybe it is so, that the family went for a walk in all composition. The husband and wife are walking ahead and discussing something with each other. Something apparently very personal, that’s why they are apart from the others. Farther away from them, we see another couple with children - most likely grandparents.

And in front of the whole company as it should be a faithful dog guarding the road. That’s actually the whole plot! But Shishkin is not just a storyline ... We must not forget that the artist is the master of the landscape and therefore, has always paid special attention to the landscape. And here he has a forest with stone hills and birches all around. And one tree is even broken.
But the main thing that immediately draws attention is the stones. They are everywhere on the canvas... And also note the skill with which the "light and shadow" is conveyed! So accurately that it’s hard to tell what time of year it is: early fall or spring, or a rainy summer.
On the canvas a quiet family idyll and the forest, which has always instilled calm and understanding of eternity. Not only the author managed to convey a sense of windy weather, the game with the shadows added a lot of merit to this canvas. And most importantly, there is no sense of portrayal, and it seems that this is a photograph. And if you take into account that the artist painted everything from memory, not making the nature to stand in certain poses, then it’s admirable at all.
It seems to be simple: to depict a forest and add human figures there. But you have to do it so as not to spoil the impression of the work. Not everyone and not always managed to do this... Shishkin not only succeeded in this, but once again confirmed his ability to depict the magnificent views of nature, not forgetting about people.

The picture has something of this: wood, tree, landscape, environment, leaf, nature, park, outdoors, recreation, moss, daylight, lush, rainforest, water, scenic, conifer, fern, dawn.
Perhaps it’s a painting of a group of people walking down a path in a wooded area with trees and rocks on either side of the path is a man and a woman with a dog.
