Painter: Alexey Kondratievich Savrasov
The painting "Sunset" is done in the traditional "Savrasov style." The artist has sketched one of his favorite times of the day, the sunset. In this picture, most of it is hidden by the dense vegetation and trees, but it was done only to fully reveal all the beauty of color and riot of colors. You can see that the sun, just no longer able to break a single ray of its own, through the dense foliage of forest trees, but despite this on the left side of the viewer is still able to observe its last rays.
Description of Alexei Savrasov’s painting Sunset
The painting "Sunset" is done in the traditional "Savrasov style." The artist has sketched one of his favorite times of the day, the sunset. In this picture, most of it is hidden by the dense vegetation and trees, but it was done only to fully reveal all the beauty of color and riot of colors.
You can see that the sun, just no longer able to break a single ray of its own, through the dense foliage of forest trees, but despite this on the left side of the viewer is still able to observe its last rays. Thus, the sunlight tries to fully pour its light into the contours of the trees and the meadow, which is located nearby.
In doing so, the artist deliberately focuses on the leaves of the outermost tree, which has bent its branch to the side, and thanks to the light that falls on them, each individual leaf becomes visible, which glows with a golden tone. As for the sky, you can see the clouds on it, which tell with all their color that the sunset is already close, the artist deliberately floods the sky with golden tones, in order to further enhance this effect.
Thus, the sky acquires this deep yellow color and illuminates with it the road, on which the artist is standing at the moment of painting. The road goes first along the trees and bypasses the forest and goes further. If you look at the ground, you can see that it is entirely full of stones, flowers and herbs, which can hardly make their way up through the thick thickness of the ground. You can see that this road is already quite old and battered from driving on it, as evidenced by the many footprints that have been left after the rain.
The artist chooses this location for a reason, you can tell from everything that it is frequently visited, but most likely people don’t often notice the beauty around them. Therefore, the picture is quite relevant and even has a certain poignant social connotation.
